College Football Hall Of Fame Moving To Atlanta
Formal Announcement from The NFF

The National Football Foundation (NFF) has announced its board of directors has accepted a plan to relocate the College Football Hall of Fame, currently located in South Bend, Ind., to the Centennial Olympic Park area in Atlanta, Ga. The move will create a new state-of-the art 50,000 square foot interactive facility steps from the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Philips Arena, Georgia Dome, and the future Center for Civil & Human Rights. The current timeline calls for the new $50 million facility to open in the fall of 2012.

Destination South Team Honored at Phoenix Awards
Cynthia Alford Receives Two Awards


Several members of the Destination South team were recently honored as part of the 2009 Phoenix Awards, an annual celebration honoring the contributions of GaMPI members to the association and its efforts. Destination South founder Cynthia Alford was named "Chapter Leader of the Year" and was also honored with the "President's Award," given by 2008-2009 President Brenda Dempsey of the Nashville CVB. In addition, the 2008 Phoenix Awards was named "Special Project of the Year." Creative Director Lorri McQueary served on this committee as counsel on entertainment. Kim Maling, our Director of Sales, co-chaired Indulgence 2009. This event team was nominated for both "Committee of the Year and "Special Project of the Year.”
