Destination South was recently contracted by one of our top clients to plan and execute a large-scale Atlanta area dine-around. The Atlanta based, Fortune 500 Company, planned this dinner event in conjunction with company's annual leadership forum at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead in hopes of entertaining, educating and fostering teamwork among attendees.
Our first task was to present an extensive list of appropriate dine-around options in Buckhead, downtown and midtown - from which 16 restaurants were chosen. Destination South then made all the arrangements including menu planning, staffing, transportation coordination and all other logistics. To accomplish this we utilized more than 16 staff and a fleet of 14 motor coaches.
The day leading up to the dinner had been clear and peaceful. Then, mere moments before the event was to commence, the sky opened up - just as all 450 attendees began to board the coaches. Due to our professional staff and detailed loading plan, we were able to load all 16 coaches in under 16 minutes- in pouring rain!
The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the attendees, who were divided into groups of 20. Led by one executive per group, the dinner "teams" were challenged to craft a message driven presentation to be delivered the following morning in a competitive analysis. Despite the stormy weather, attendees continue to praise the organization and the effectiveness of the dine-around event.
